Indigenous America
This topic consisted of the Indigenous americans that live before the settlers came. For example, How the Indigenous lived through there cultures and traditions. For instance,their connection with nature like plants,animals, and water. What the land they live in meant to them and how they protect it. Finally we also learned traditions like oral traditions with stories.
Events leading to the American Revolution
This topic as stated is about what caused the American revolution to happen. First of all there is a timeline of events that explains what key events have happened that lead up to the revolution. We later find out more about the revolution and what it was about when reading about the declaration of independence. We also learn about the effects of the war to non powerful men. Finally, we read about some of the battles that happend during the war.
1780's-1790's Creating a new country
This topic takes place shortly after the American revolution. It talks about the struggles the people had for rights and how others try to take them away. For example, The shaysites that were fighting for better rights. Another example would be the debate about who's America won, Alexander's,or jefferson's. And finally we learn about the bill of rights and what bills are.
1800's-1840's Expanding the Territory of the United States.
The Final Topic is about how the U.S. Government tried to fight the Indigenous People for their land. One of the main players in causing the battles was Andrew Jackson and how he wanted the Indigenous People's lands. We learned also about the laws and policies the US made against Indigenous Americans. Finally, we also get the point of the events from the Natives perspective of the events like Tehcumseh.
